Sitka is situated on the west side of Baranof Island in the Alexander Archipelago of the Pacific Ocean (part of the Alaska Panhandle). Sitka has a population of 8,458,[4] the fifth-most populated city in the state. Sitka is most known for its premiere fishing, both ocean and fresh water! One can catch beautiful King and Coho salmon, massive Halibut, tasty Rock Fish, Steelhead, and so much more! Sitka also offers everything from kayaking, hunting, wildlife tours, whale watching, biking, surfing, incredible hiking, delicious food and drink, back country skiing just to name a few of the limitless adventures you can get into in this amazing part of Alaska!
